Environmental Commitment

Like the Petun Indians who inhabited this land in the 16th and 17th centuries, the Europeans who arrived in the 1800's and the Jozo Weider led skiers who discovered the Blue Mountain escarpment in the early 1940’s, the OslerBrook Golf & Country Club, its founders and members, have an unyielding respect for nature and the environment. OslerBrook has continued this commitment working in close consultation with our course designers and builders, as well as numerous Governmental regulatory agencies, to ensure minimum impact on the environment and to enhance the inherent beauty of the OlserBrook landscape. In fact, during construction, we significantly increased the wetland acreage on our property. These wetlands are part of a bio-filter system which allows the course to clean and re-use its surface water resulting in a net positive effect on the environment. Walk the golf course to experience our environmental commitment - the wild flowers, wet meadows, bird habitats, the many wildlife corridors and even a winter Hibernaculum.

OslerBrook aggressively pursued formal certification with the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program (ACSP) for golf courses and in the Spring of 2008 was rewarded for all the hard work by being designated a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. This is quite an honor and OslerBrook became only the 38th course in Ontario and the 679th world wide to hold this designation.
